You already know that Beth Riley is my favorite DJ (and person) and Boppin' With Beth is my favorite show. I get the privilege of a front row seat as she plans, researches and then records these each week. She sometimes has to do a few takes while recording because she gets so emotional over the content. She does these shows because she is passionate about music...both old and new. Her main goal is to keep great music alive. This week's show is on the late, great Warren Zevon and was a deeply emotional experience for her to do. I've been asking her to do a show on Warren for a while but she knew it would be a tough one for her to get through. It was! But, hopefully it gives you more appreciation for his life and music and why so many are/were fans of his. Perhaps you'll be a new fan after listening! Hear about his life, career and untimely passing. There's a couple of great solo tracks from his catalog as well as one from his side band, Hindu Love Gods. There's some songs from influences and peers including The Everly Brothers, Jackson Browne, Randy Newman, Bob Dylan as well as covers by Linda Ronstadt, The Turtles and The Bangles. Beth's Bop Of The Week is a great song from Warren's son, Jordan Zevon! I've got a tune by The Trashmen in Hang Ten! Hear it all HERE:
