Looking For Opportunity

Hello! My name is Jack Preston and I am new to the world of radio. I am looking to volunteer (part-time) for a U.S.-based radio station. A station that plays pop and rock from the 1950's through 1990's or one that plays jazz music (both classic and contemporary). I would also like to find a station that is wholesome, family-friendly and doesn't use a lot of foul language or crude humor.

I'd like to start out by helping an existing show, if possible. I have skills in social media management and basic graphic and web design that could be helpful. But ultimately I would like to have my own weekly show (at some point). Of course, I don't want to rush things. I prefer to take my time, if at all possible.

I have a good computer, high-speed internet, a solid microphone and headphone set and basic understanding of programs like Audacity. The one thing I must admit is that I don't have extra money for additional equipment or software because I am currently unemployed. Hopefully there's a way to work around that.

If you would like to talk with me about a potential opportunity, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Jack,

It is nice to see someone who wants to do a live show. Please talk with us at Have A Blast Radio. Check us out at haveablastradio.com. We use Mixxx, which is free software for DJing. I can help you set it up and learn how to use it.

My contact info is reba@haveablastradio.com, feel free to send me a message via email.

Hi Reba.
Out of curiosity, can anything other than Mixxx be used, as the software doesn’t support USB microphones?

Hi Jack. We have slots throughout the week and weekends that may suit you. We are UK based so obviously how they fit in with your local time may be an issue. We have 3 USA members on our team 2 on CST time and one on EST. Have a look at our website and get in touch if you're interested.
