WQNR FM 95.1 Shine FM currently has open vacancies for Online Radio Presenters with or without experience in the Broadcasting industry who are looking to join our presenter team.
WQNR FM 95.1 is committed to providing a quality radio show to which our listening audience will enjoy tuning into. Therefore we are looking for individuals with a great PERSONALITY, DRIVE, Ambition and ENTHUSIASM in order to be able to Present a show on our station. This will involve doing a fair bit of talking live via a microphone to your audience during your shows.
You will need to have a good quality "Radio Personality" in order to be able to engage our listeners. This is something that you can practice at home by listening to the current presenter styles of Commercial Radio Stations in the UK, Canada or the United States. This is a very important part of really a DJ. A "DJ" is not just about playing your favorite records or CD's as our station uses automated software so timings are very critical and important. We are also open to having host Talk, Consumer and current affairs Shows on our station. we are also equally interested to hear from individuals wanting to host a regular specialist topic show.
A Presenter is about being able to host an engaging, informative and entertaining show, which this could be an ideal opportunity for a student wishing to make their break in TV or Radio broadcasting or behind the scenes in the media industry.
All Presenters on our station will need to know their way around a computer and Automated Play-out Systems, in order to be able to keep to schedules set up by the Program Director/Station Manager. Accurate logging and the ability to read news, and travel updates is key part of being a presenter.
Volunteers are an essential part of our community media – without your dedication, enthusiasm and voluntary teams, your local community radio stations, TV channels and film organizations would be unable to provide their service to their listeners.
You don’t need to make a big commitment to our station; you can volunteer as little or as much as you would like to do or have of available time. Whether you want to pop in for a few hours once every couple of weeks to produce a special featured show, or become a part of our busy core team of program assistants and producers, our door is always open to you. No prior experience in the radio industry is required – We just want you to have a willingness to learn and the enthusiasm to become a part of station!
Past volunteers who have worked with our radio station have gone on to work with major radio companies and organizations like Corus Entertainment. But you don’t have to have ambitions in the media to get involved – all you need is the enthusiasm and drive to do something for your local community, no matter how big or small.
To apply send a copy us a photograph and a demo of at least 10 minutes of your presenter style and more importantly how you deliver and present your show. Music should only be used in the intros and outro's of you voice track. There is no need for us to hear the full music track, just your voice.
