Traktor settings for Edcast/BUTT

Hello!

I'm using Traktor Pro 2 with a midi controller. As Traktor only broadcasts in Ogg, I'd like to use either Edcast or Butt to broadcast in mp3. Both of these take their input from Stereo Mix. What settings do I need to change in Traktor to get Stereo Mix to 'hear' what I'm playing?

Cheers.

Hi John,

Not all soundcards will allow the the output of your souncard to be routed back as the input which you will require for Edcast / Butt.

It might be better running the streaming side of things on a separate computer. With a 2nd computer, its soundcards line in (coming out from your controllers built in soundcard - if it has one) can act as the line in source for Edcast / Butt. That's how we would go about doing this. We normally connect the output of a Traktor Kontrol S2's built in soundcard to the inputs of a second soundcard running Butt on another machine.

Thanks for the reply.

I can only get it to work if I run a cable out the back of the controller and into the microphone socket of the laptop. But it's not a great set up.

A second computer for streaming is probably what I need to get.

No problem.

Agreed, that is not really ideal doing it that way.

You could pick up a 2nd hand PC / laptop for a fairly cheap price if you don't have one already kicking about. It does not need to be anything special if you are only using it for streaming the audio to the server. A pretty basic spec would be more than sufficient.
