Beginning on Monday, June 22nd and airing twice daily at 1 to 4 PM eastern and 7 to 10 PM eastern, "The American Bottom 45" will be a show that will cater to those who are getting tired of hearing top 40 oldies. As its name implies, the show will explore nothing but the bottom side of the charts and/or lost oldies from 1957 through 1989. Qualifying tunes are ones that peaked between 41 and 100, ones that only appeared on Billboard's Bubbling Under or Cashbox's Looking Ahead charts, and ones that didn't chart at all. Occasional interesting records from Canada, the UK, and Australia may also be included.
Airing this show will be The Retro Attic, a 24/7 internet oldies station that has been around since 2011. The Retro Attic's regular programming consists of 5-song year blocks covering 1957 through 1989; 4 of the songs in each block are top 40 hits and the other song is a lost oldie with DJ commentary. There is also a Featured Artist Of The Month and listener requests either between or during these blocks. Tune into The Retro Attic at http://retroatticrareoldiesradio.com
