Live talk radio - stream and record at the same time - anyone know how?

We are trying to design a format for a niche community radio station. Talk and interview will be a prominent feature. We want to record the stream as it goes out, so we can give an MP3 to the people we talk to.

Can anyone suggest the best way to do it, or give us some insights, links, etc? Is there a suitable Winamp plugin?

The source operating systems will be Windows 7 or Windows XP.

Cheers :)

Assuming using Windows you can attempt to enable the recording device called 'Stereo Mix' and then get Audacity to use that as its input channel. 'Stereo Mix' will grab whatever is playing from your speakers. Besides, you should many sound recording devices claim to record live streaming radio while you stream online. Test out them by doing some googling.

You mean that you need to design a program which can record what you are streaming. Perhaps there is a suitable Winamp plugin or a standalone program for you to learn how to rip online radio directly.

Answering my own question ...

Butt ( http://butt.sourceforge.net/ ) seems to do everything we want to do - stream and record at the same time. WinAmp is an irrelevance.
