Icecast2 Issues Regarding Public Connection.

Hi,
I am currently attempting to create a new Icecast2 server. I have installed the server, edited the config, downloaded Mixx as my client and much more. Yet, my server refuses to stream public. Here is exactly what I did from the start along with my config file.

1. Port forwarded TCP/UDP Base Port: 8000 | Start Port: 8000 | End Port: 8001

2/1. Edited my configuration file, this is what it looks like..
Code:
icecast>
    <limits>
        <clients>100</clients>
        <sources>2</sources>
        <threadpool>5</threadpool>
        <queue-size>524288</queue-size>
        <client-timeout>30</client-timeout>
        <header-timeout>15</header-timeout>
        <source-timeout>10</source-timeout>
        <!-- If enabled, this will provide a burst of data when a client
             first connects, thereby significantly reducing the startup
             time for listeners that do substantial buffering. However,
             it also significantly increases latency between the source
             client and listening client. For low-latency setups, you
             might want to disable this. -->
        <burst-on-connect>1</burst-on-connect>
        <!-- same as burst-on-connect, but this allows for being more
             specific on how much to burst. Most people won't need to
             change from the default 64k. Applies to all mountpoints -->
        <burst-size>65535</burst-size>
    </limits>

2/2. Turned off firewalls for now, will allow ports later.

3. Downloaded Mixx and entered all the server information.

4. Started the server and connected with Mixx using my internal IP (192.168.1.xx) because if I attempt my Public IP, Mixx doesn't connect.

5. Attempted to stream, can connect using 192.168.1.xx:8000/stream, but not mypublicip:8000/stream.

I am willing to screen share at this point, as I cannot find a single thing wrong, yet I cannot connect.

Thanks in advance!

Its difficult to say exactly but it seems related to your port forwarding. Your setting seems fine.

The easiest solution is just to use one of our servers Internet Radio Servers This is all taken care of for you. Using your home connection is not a great idea for streaming.

Good luck!
