Does anyone happen to know what the rules are on the DMCA, etc. about live mixing? e.g., minimum playtime for a track, cue point usage, and such.
I broadcast dance music using a mixing console and decks, but I've currently limited myself to just seamless mixing between the intros and outros of tracks. I would really like to be more involved, especially since most of my tracks are in "Extended Mix" form, which take so darn long to finish up (relatively speaking). The people that I've been in contact with have basically told me that the safe thing to do is intro/outro mixing, just wondering if anyone here knows better.
I know stations like Digitally Imported have live mixes on the show, just didn't know regulations on that.
