Hello. We're a community low-power FM radio station using DirEttore automation software for terrestrial broadcasting. We encode a feed of the line signal via AltaCast Standalone for streaming on a ShoutCast V1 server. How can we configure this live streaming setup to display track info metadata on the web audio player? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Chris,

You would have to update the meta-data manually within AltaCast Standalone if you are using a line out signal. But if you are looking for some automation software that is like DirEttore, then we recommend looking into Sam Broadcaster which offers the same features but it can also stream to a Shoutcast server at the same time. So you would not need any additional encoding software running and this would display the meta-data for your Shoutcast stream.

Thank you for your reply. Would RadioDJ and AutoDJ also be an option in addition to SAM Broadcaster? The Centova Cast admin for ShoutCast includes AutoDJ.

No problem. Yes it seems that 'RadioDJ' has a Shoutcast encoder from quickly looking at their website. The Centovacast AutoDJ feature cannot be used to broadcast your live stream, the feature requires your files to be uploaded to the server.

Can DirEttore export the playing track information as a plain text file?
Thank
Chris

We have no idea unfortunately? We've never used the software ourselves. It's worth checking the user manual.
